MEGABEARD!
Nobody at the Halloween party would appreciate a “The Bat” costume, but you can bet your ass I’m going to build one out of kids costumes when those sweet Post-Halloween sales start up.

MYTH: “Tim Drake & Dick Grayson’s History is Gone”

“When Dick Grayson showed up in a Nightwing costume and Tim Drake was only mentioned as a Teen Titan, it appeared that the former Robins were being shuffled off to a status that erased their history.
After all, Dick Grayson was just Batman, but suddenly he isn’t. And Tim Drake had a solo series where he worked within the Batman family, but suddenly isn’t mentioned among the Bat-titles.
Those fears were all laid to rest by Batman writer Scott Snyder and Nightwing writer Kyle Higgins, who confirmed to Newsarama that Tim is still in the Bat-family and Dick is still a former Batman.
“In Batman #1, we’ll have establishing moments where you’ll get to see the roles played by Damian, Tim, and Dick,” Snyder said. “They are part of the first issue.”
“I don’t think you could do a Nightwing book at this point without dealing with the fact that he was just Batman,” Higgins said. “One of the reasons he’s Nightwing now is because of him just being Batman.”
Of course, while these former male Robins appear to be still around, no official word on female former-Robin Stephanie Brown now that she’s no longer Batgirl, although there are rumors she’ll be back to her Spoiler identity in the DCnU.”

Also, Barbara Gordon is going to be out of the wheel chair and BatGirl again.

MEGABEARD COMIC PANEL OF THE WEEK #21
Batman #706Damian Wayne: He’s Above Puberty.
nuff said.
In the beginning I thought the “son of Batman” thing was just a short lived gimmick, but Damian is really shaping up to be one of my favorite Robins. I mean he’s like a spoiled, blood thirsty, ninja, Jason Todd. What’s not to like? Now if you’ll excuse me, a million comics came out today. I have some reading to catch up on.

MEGABEARD COMIC PANEL OF THE WEEK #11
Batman: The Return Of Bruce Wayne #6
Bruce Wayne is back from the dead, past, space, being unstuck from time. I personally enjoy Dick being batman, but it’s good to have the boss back. I didn’t read the first 5 parts of the series, due to the ridiculousness of which comics it crossed over to and my overall lack of funds, but I picked up this last one, and the story was confusing, but at points just as beautiful as the art. This page really stuck out to me. Enjoy

Drawing terribly, and as fast as you can, and how much fun that can be.

by Dave and Justin

Last night by best friend came over to lazily sit on the couch and get me out of the house. At my girlfriend’s starbucks, we sat at the bar and started discussing comic con for next year. I jokingly said we should have an artist alley table and do awful commissions for free. These are Justin’s and my 10 second awful commission drawings.

If they look like they were drawn by 5 -year-olds, we have succeeded!

btw, here’s Justin’s tumblr

PS. I will take requests for awful pictures all night. Pop them in the ask box.

Black Lantern Batman (Blackest Night Wave 5 DC Direct)I’ve never really counted down the days for a figure release, but I needed the Black Lantern Batman to go with my zombified Cap and Spiderman.

Jason Todd Batman Reborn Figure from DC Direct
Jason Todd, Ex-Robin who was allegedly dead for a long time returned to the DCU as a villain. (coincidentally the same day Bucky Barnes, Captain America’s sidekick returned at Marvel) After Bruce Wayne Died/disappeared/got unstuck from time a gamut of chatacter crawled out of the woodwork to take up the cowl. One of them being the thought murdered Jason Todd. He created a new batman to combat what the world had become, and he wasn’t going to let anyone stop his new vision of the dark knight.
I dare say he’s one of the most badass batmen to date (sorry Azrael).
I saw this figure at the comic shop this past Wednesday, and it is amazing. I would pick it up if Blackest Night Wave 5 Batman wasn’t hitting the shelves next week.
sigh.

THE MANY COLORS OF BATMAN

With no big surprise to the DCU, Batman will be returning as a white lantern. I mean it only makes sense. He dies in Batman RIP or FInal Crisis (take your pick), Is reanimated (maybe?) for a brief second in Blackest Night as a Black Lantern, and now random deceased heroes have been brought back from the dead in Brightest day as White Lanterns (even though it’s still a little vague). I was expecting Batman’s return with Brightest Day and here it is. I’m excited and all, but I kind of like the Batman comic’s new dynamic of Dick as Bats and Damian as Robin, plus the Jason Todd Batman villain is really really cool. I just wanted them to bring back Ted Kord! But regardless this will keep me reading Brightest Day because lets face it, Power Ring Batmen, which usually barely last a few pages, are really reeeeaaaally freaking awesome.

So the question is, which lantern batman is your favorite?

I like black, but we’ll wait to see what white has to offer.
